The Sinope Wine agricultural estate, owned by Nicola De Rosa, is located in Mondragone, in the province of Caserta, nestled between Mount Petrino and Mount Massico, in the heart of the historic Campania Felix. The winery stands in a territory of great oenological prestige, within the ancient production area of Ager Falernus, homeland of one of the most renowned and celebrated wines of the ancient world.

The soil is calcareous, with clay deposits rich in minerals, and benefits from proximity to a sulfur water spring, known since antiquity for its therapeutic properties. The mild climate and constant exposure to sea breezes create an ideal environment for vine cultivation. These unique conditions contribute to giving our wines distinctive organoleptic characteristics—an authentic expression of terroir, which lies at the core of our production philosophy.

The vineyards, planted at a density of 5,000 vines per hectare, are trained using the Guyot system. Harvesting is carried out by hand, in crates, between late September and early October, perfectly in tune with the vine’s natural cycle.

On this land, one perceives the dedication of a family of farmers who, since the early 1900s, have worked these fields with passion. Fifteen years ago, Nicola De Rosa officially founded the agricultural estate when, fully aware of his roots, he chose to pursue his ideals while maintaining a strong bond with the culture and traditions of the territory. It is a project that combines passion and innovation, offering an authentic and original vision of the land through a captivating and distinctive brand.

The company’s focus is the quality of the final product, ensured by meticulous care at every stage of production—from vineyard management to bottling and commercialisation. Elegance and character define Sinope Wine’s production of Falerno del Massico, Primitivo, and Falanghina, featuring customised labels created by renowned Neapolitan artists CYOP&KAF.

Each label is inspired by the mysterious legends of Neapolitan folk tradition: Munaciello, Bella mbriana, and Scìrpia (janara), recurring figures in stories handed down by grandparents. The Nonno Pie DOC, on the other hand, is a heartfelt tribute to beloved grandfather Pietro—the true roots of the winery—who devoted his entire life to the land with tireless passion and deep dedication.

Munaciello Primitivo, cultivated using the Guyot training system, grows on the clayey, calcareous, mineral-rich land at the foot of Mount Petrino, in the Incaldana area—a place renowned for its therapeutic properties thanks to the presence of a sulfur water spring. These essential elements enrich the vineyards, endowing the wine with unique characteristics, and emphasise the fundamental importance of the culture of Terroir.
The colour is an intense ruby red tending toward garnet hues. The enveloping bouquet evokes sour cherries (Prunus cerasus) and plums. On the palate this wine is full and round, supported by soft tannins that enhance its depth and complexity.
Ideal when paired with red meats, game, and rich dishes typical of Mediterranean cuisine.

Born on the slopes of the renowned Mount Massico area in Mondragone, with yields of 70–80 quintals per hectare, Scìrpia stands out—with its 14% ABV—for its robust structure and bold character, typical of the Primitivo grape, combined with the lightness and vibrancy characteristic of rosé wines. This impeccable combination creates a wine of outstanding experiential impact and high quality.
The winemaking process involves cold fermentation at 15°C for 15–20 days, followed by 5 months of ageing before bottling.
In the glass, it displays a vivid, brilliant pink color reminiscent of onion skin, with bright reflections, offering a further glimpse into the wine’s personality. On the nose, pleasant notes of Mediterranean herbs with hints of wet stone can be detected. The body is round, well-structured and smooth, with a silky finish that pleasantly envelops the palate.
It pairs well with risottos, white meats, flavourful fish dishes such as tuna and amberjack, and semi-aged cheeses. Thanks to its versatility, it is also ideal as an aperitif.
